Our Getting Started in Your School Checklist can schools lay the groundwork for a strong implementation. As you implement Zearn Math, consider these four implementation essentials:
▢ Weekly schedule: Zearn Math is based on a personalized rotational model. Students should spend 30 minutes in Independent Digital Lessons and 30 minutes in Small Group Instruction each Core instructional day. We also recommended weekly Flex Time. Establish the guidelines for your school’s (or district’s) Zearn Math weekly schedule. Our Help Center offers our Zearn Recommended Schedule.
▢ Paper Student Notes and Exit Tickets: While working independently, students should complete paper Student Notes and Exit Tickets to retain and transfer learning. Establish the guidelines for these paper materials. We offer Zearn Workbooks and Answer Keys with all the daily paper materials classrooms need.
▢ Assessments: Zearn Math offers Lesson-level and Mission-level assessments to review progress, note strengths, and indicate areas for growth. Communicate your school’s (or district’s) preferences on assessments and grading expectations.
▢ Setting, tracking, and celebrating goals: Support independent learning at the individual, classroom, and school-level. Plan your systems for setting, tracking, and celebrating goals. Our Help Center offers sample systems and Anchor Charts.
