Zearn is deeply committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment for educators, students, and their families. In addition to the frequently asked questions below, families are encouraged to visit Zearn’s website to view the full privacy principles and policy.

Is Zearn Math safe for kids?
Zearn Math is designed to provide a safe and secure learning environment for children. Zearn does not sell student information, does not use student information for advertising or marketing, and does not display third-party advertising. Zearn Math also does not include student-facing generative AI, chatbots, student messaging, or social networking. Zearn Math accounts are created and managed by adults: authorized educators or parents and guardians.

Who can see my kids' information when they use Zearn Math?
Student information is not publicly visible on Zearn Math. Authorized educators and school or district administrators can access the information they need to manage student accounts, assign lessons, and monitor learning and progress. Zearn and its approved service providers may also use limited student information when necessary to operate and support Zearn Math.  

What data does Zearn collect from kids?
Zearn collects only the student information needed to provide and support learning with Zearn Math. Specifically, student information is used to manage student accounts, provide sequential grade-level lessons, show educators information about student progress, operate the program, and improve its effectiveness. Zearn does not sell student information or use it for advertising, marketing, or AI model training.

Can kids use AI on Zearn Math? 
No. Zearn Math does not include student-facing generative AI, chatbots, or AI-generated lesson responses.  Zearn Math also does not use student personally identifiable information to develop, improve, or train AI models. Zearn Math uses limited technology features, such as text-to-speech, to make learning more accessible, but these features do not allow students to have open-ended conversations with AI.
