Every digital lesson has built-in Boosts that offer support and scaffolding from prior grades or units during the Tower of Power, the independent practice portion of each lesson. As students work through grade-level concepts in their digital lessons, an embedded daily diagnostic assesses each student’s understanding and automatically launches a Boost exactly when students need it. After a student has experienced a Boost, they are taken back to their point of struggle and given another opportunity to demonstrate their understanding.
Boosts are personalized to the specific struggle a student may have in each digital lesson and introduce representations that students can use to make sense of complicated problems. If students receive three Boosts in the same Tower of Power, a Tower Alert is generated for their teacher. Teachers will see these alerts in their Tower Alert Report.
