What is the LiveView Report?
The LiveView Report gives teachers real-time visibility into student learning during Zearn time, helping them quickly see who is actively working, who to celebrate, and who may need a check-in while students work independently through grade-level digital lessons.
For teachers using a School Account, the LiveView Report displays real-time information about which students are currently signed in, each student's progress toward the weekly goal of completing 3 grade-level lessons, and alerts that identify students who may benefit from additional support during the lesson.
How do teachers use the LiveView Report?
Teachers can begin on the Class tab to monitor the class as a whole. At the start of Zearn time, use the LiveView Report to confirm students are signed in and getting started, then review Weekly Lesson Completion to celebrate students who are on track and encourage students who are still working toward their weekly goal. During the rest of Zearn time, check alerts once or twice to identify students who may benefit from a brief check-in.
LiveView includes two active alerts: Tower Alerts and Time Alerts.
- A Tower Alert means a student is still working to demonstrate full understanding in the Tower of Power, a mastery-based quiz at the end of each lesson.
- A Time Alert means a student is taking longer than expected on their current activity.
How do I identify where a student needs support?
If you want to take a closer look at an individual student, open the Student tab. For students with a Tower Alert, you can view the part of the Tower level where the student most recently struggled, helping you better understand where a check-in may be helpful. Support students by encouraging them to explain their thinking, draw a picture or use manipulatives, or work through a similar problem together. Focus on helping students continue the thinking themselves and celebrate perseverance as they work toward understanding.
